There are sooo many great ideas in this book from determining your face shape by using your lipstick and a mirror to creating your "go-to" pose for photographs !! Congrats Shelley... you have reminded us that true beauty does come from within but you have also shown us how to take the gifts God gave us and make the most of them !!

As for someone in the modeling business, it was a nice light read, but definitely nothing special. Added to my list of tips & tricks, but generally, it was common sense and I got bored occasionally.The first 1/3 of the book was a waste of time, then there was some nice info here and there.

I have way too many books on art and a lot are just the same thing over and over. If I read them all I would never have time to paint. But this book is different. It is actually well worth reading and trying out stuff. Who would have though it was so easy to paint copper pots. If you only get one book on oil colors, get this one.

Best thing I ever did, buying this book. now I can throw away all those which are useless compared to this one.

This is a great book, full of information about color mixing and written in a very easy to read and interesting format. It is very helpful and it will give me the kick start I need to get back into oil painting.

About the Author
Bruce Ballenger is the author of four books, including The Curious Researcher, a student guide to writing research papers, and Beyond Note Cards: Rethinking the Freshman Research Paper. His fifth book, forthcoming from Allyn & Bacon and coauthored with Michelle Payne, is Readings for the Curious Researcher. Bruce's articles and creative nonficiton have appeared in publications ranging from College English to the Boston Globe. He currently directs the writing program at Boise State University.

Michelle Payne is Assistant Professor of English at Boise State University in Boise, Idaho, where she currently serves as Assistant Director of the Writing Program, trains teaching assistants, and teaches courses in writing, composition and rhetorical theory, and feminist theory. She has contributed essays and chapters to several publications, including The Bucknell Review, Taking Stock: The Writing Process Movement in the 90's (coedited by Lad Tobin and Thomas Newkirk), and Writing and Healing: Toward an Informed Practice (coedited by Charles Anderson and Marian MacCurdy).
